I’m Kelly
Years ago, while working as a corporate manager, I asked myself, "How can I help others break free from feeling stuck?" This question led me to pursue coaching, which ignited my passion. I soon realized the next step was to become a clinical counsellor specializing in mental health and relationship therapy.
Around this time, I sat across from a counsellor and worked through an area where I felt stuck. Counselling helped me consider new possibilities and perspectives, releasing me from stronghold judgments. It was a vulnerable time, and I reflect on how delicate and transformative that experience was. This personal journey inspired my commitment to helping others as a mental health counsellor and marriage therapist, guiding them toward growth and healing in their own lives.
As a Chilliwack counsellor, I want to ensure you feel safe when sharing. I see you as the expert in your life. You will not feel rushed, and I will respond to you from a place of empathy. My focus is on your needs. I avoid judging you for any reason and accept you fully and unconditionally. You will lead throughout our sessions. You will decide how much information to share and at what pace. I will create an environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your unfiltered truth.
As a counsellor, I am supportive and believe people have the inherent capacity for healing. I take a compassionate approach, believe everyone belongs, and am committed to advocating for marginalized communities. My modalities include solution-focused, acceptance and commitment, narrative, cognitive behavioural, emotion-focused, and the Gottman method.
While I offer support across many areas, my passionate focus is on couples or marriage counselling. I help partners build stronger, more connected relationships or marriages.
